It's good to be home.

I had fun in St. Louis. The Pre-release was ok. It was long. I got a flat tire. I'm glad Spants was my partner. He doesn't take it too seriously. I would rather win, but I'm ok with losing, Spants is the same way. I think we're evenly matched as far as magic, goes. Matthew's a good player, but sometimes he lets the rules get in the way. I like the idea of the game, building an army to destroy your opponent. I like the imagery of the game. I think that stuff apeals to Matthew too, but he's more interested in mechanics. He likes to win in ways that are different and interesting. He uses his superior knowledge of the game to make things happen that seem like they shouldn't be able to happen. I like to throw hordes of Zombies at people. I think that's why pretty much all of my decks are tribal. Matthew picks cards that get what he needs done, I pick cards that would get along with the other cards if they were really creatures, hanging out in my library, waiting to be summoned... enough about magic (and if it's not enough, read Matthew's blog www.getmeoutofthis.net).

Anyway, this weekend was awesome. Hanging out with Pete and Steve is always great. We just have a ridiculous amount of common ground between the three of us. Conversation is so easy, and never dull. I spent the night at their dorm friday night. Their room is huge this year. Pete had to work in the morning, so he went to bed around 130, so Steve and I stayed up and talked till like 330, we also kicked some major ass in Mario Kart: Double Dash (this is a lie, we got rocked, it was terrible). I got to help them do their friend Tim's radio show Saturday afternoon. It was pretty cool. At some point we went to the loop, ate pizza, bought stuff, then played cranium at my uncle kevin's house. In short it was da balls. So thanks Pete and Steve for being so awesome.

Anyway, I'm home, I'm tired. I'm going to bed

On Location, in St. Louis.

I'm sitting at Pete's desk, using his laptop to blog, while he and Steve are bathing. I haven't blogged in a while, cause I'm a loser and play too much World of Warcrat. I know it's becoming a common message in my blogs, but I'm going to reiterrate it now, World of Warcraft ruins your life. You can't not play it if you have it, I've tried. It doesn't work. I can't be at home and not play the game. This weekend will probably be the longest I've gone without playing it...I'm not going to talk about it anymore... it's sad.

Pete and Steve saw Sufjan Stevens on thursday. They tell me stories of the concert. I wish I would've went, but I had to work. YAY work.

I wish I had something interesting to say. I don't. This is merely a token blogpost. There is no real content, I apologize.

PS: The chords for "Sunshine" are A, E, and D, dig it.

I wrote a paper I liked today

I have a paper due tomorrow. I was going to write part of it tonight and part of it tomorrow. I started writing it and I was enjoying it so much I just wrote the whole damn thing. It was a lot of fun. I hope Dr. Bambi Robinson likes it.

What else... Oh, I got the killers album from Robert N. He's apparently had it for like a year. What the crap?

I really like the Andrew Bird album I got from Pete and Steve, as well as the lucksmiths and the iron and wine. Yup. YAY music.

In addition....

This is really a note to myself, but you can read it if you want...

Hey Matt, these are some bands you should check out when you want to buy more music:

Kings of Leon
Coral
Killers
Ween

that is all

I like Gary Sinise

Gary Sinise is the only reason to watch CSI New York. Well... actually there are other reasons to watch it... it's better than CSI Miami... that's not saying much. I'm watching CSI NY right now. It's distracting. I watched Head Cases earlier. Chris O'Donnell is ok, Adam Goldberg is better.

I bought gas today. I went to Basic Fuel. A car was stopped on the side of the road. White smoke was pouring out of the front end. After I purchased my fuel I noticed that the car was now issuing forth grey smoke. Grey smoke is bad smoke. It means fire. White smoke is bad, but not as bad as grey smoke. In addition to the grey smoke, there was some sort of fire like flames dripping from the front end of the car. I decided to get a better look, so I drove over to the K's Merchandise parking lot. About that time a firetruck arrived. From my new vantage point I could see the flames that were engulfing the entire front end of the vehicle. The firemen made short work of the flaming car. Actually the firemen seemed to be using more water than what was necessary to put out the fire. The hosed down the front end, the interior, under the car, the car's owner.... they just really sprayed a lot of water a lot of places. Then after they were done spraying things, one of the firemen brought out a sheet of paper and had the owner sign it. Which got me thinking... When firemen come to your house to put out a fire (or to your car) do they charge you for it? I just assumed they did it for free, but you know... I don't know. Hopefully I'll never find out... at least not in the way that the guy whose car caught fire did.

Today I accomplished nothing

I worked a little bit. I was going to go to the library and start my research paper. I did nothing. I played WOW. I went for a bike ride. I suck.

No one remembered what the fanfic topic was for today. It was crazy.

Schemes in the works:

1. Franz/Magic St. Louis Weekend Getaway!
2. Halloween
3. Homework?
4. Operation Bucketjam

This is my life...

Wake up, school, eat, work, wow, sleep.

That's what I do every weekday. It's kind of boring. I would like to hang out with the guys during the week, but by the time I get home from work and eat supper, it's already like nine. I'm such a geezer. But I'm a geezer with a level 20 Druid, a level Rogue, and a level 11 Mage.

School... I don't know about school... it's... yeah.

Labor Day

I've been watching the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon thing. It's pretty sad. Sad for a lot of reasons. Muscular Dystrophy is a pretty bad thing. It's unforunate that people have to live with it. My mom's friend Gina has MD. Some kind of MD, I'm not sure what kind. It's sad to see Jerry Lewis try to be funny. He's not. He just makes these ridiculous faces. It's unpleasant. He had Tony Orlando on. Tony Orlando sang some incredibly sappy "America + God+ MD+ New Orleans" song. It was the worst kind of pandering. It was all and all a pretty unsavory display. How long have they been doing this telethon? Is MD curable? Is it preventable? What kind of progress is being made?

To counteract the negative effects of the MDA telethon I watched the delightful David Mamet comedy, State and Main. I enjoy this movie. It's got Phillip Seymour Hoffman and William H. Macy in it. These guys are pretty substantial talents, and if you're making a movie, I recommend putting one or both of them in it.

Septemeber, September

I bought a bunch of movies from Hollywood Video last night. Seven of them to be exact, all on VHS. This is good because it gives me something to do while I wow. The movies in no particular order are:
Rush Hour
Rushmore
The Two Towers
State and Main
and three Bond Movies:
From Russia with Love
Moonraker
You Only Live Twice (YAY Bath-house scene!)

All of these films cost me a total of $26.74. A bargain, I say. I'd write about how much work is going to suck this week, but I'd rather not think about it. So I'm going to write my fanfic, which is about work. Crap.
