I need to buy some CDR's

Since I'm not taking classes this semester I have this feeling of uselessness. I didn't have it last week cause I worked like some sort of beast that works a lot. This week it's been pretty tame at work, so I haven't been going in till 230, which is nice, but I end up just sitting home until work. I need to find some way to occupy my time, and it's not that I don't have things to do, I just choose to not do them. I should write. I should practice guitar. I should clean the house. I have been running a couple of times a week, which is nice. I need to do it more often, but I'd rather consistently do it sporadically than do it religiously for a week than quit for a month than try to start again.

Spants isn't taking classes either but he's usually at work when I'm not at work and I'm usually at work when he's not at work. It's a fun little game we play.

I think I'm going to take a break from podcasts today. I don't know why, but I think listening to my mp3 player at work is hurting my neck.

Also in the sort of good news category I'm being fairly good about my soda abstinence. I'm pretty much only drinking it on weekends, and then only at restraunts and only if the have the D.P. so... you know... small steps and all that.

I also need to read more. I suppose that's all for now.

Last Week I worked like a madman

I'm not taking classes this semester. I'm probably going to take a class or two in the summer, and in the spring I'll be back to full time student.

I bought my first Dylan album. Blonde on Blonde. It's pretty good. When I think of Bob Dylan, it's the kind of songs on Blonde on Blonde. I'll be purchasing another Dylan album soon.

So I'm trying out podcasts now. There are a lot of podcasts. I'm looking for music podcasts and the trouble I'm having is finding consistently updated casts. Speaking of podcasts, we did a Crappyasst last night. It was terrible. Listen at your own risk. The problem with having 7 people podcasting is that everyone tries to talk at the same time and you just get a jumbled mess. I haven't listened to it yet, but when we were recording it... it was just bad.

Anyway. I'm going to nap before work.

Remember This

Hey Matt you need to remember these things...

Isobel Campbell is putting out an album. It comes out in March.
Boy Least Likely To is going to be in Chicago March 28. That's a Tuesday....balls.

Anyway. I just thought you should know.

24 hours in Aurora

This weekend I went to Aurora Missouri for my aunt Mary's 50 birthday party. I was shocked that a person could drive west for five hours, and still be in Missouri. Anyway the party was a lot of fun and the weekend did nothing but cement the notion that my family rocks. The Essner's are just great people, I recommend you get to know some if presented the oppurtunity. (It's important to note that not all people with the last name Essner are real Essners. Some are fake. The differences are subtle, but extremely important. Most non-Essner's can't tell the difference between genuine and faux Essner's. Don't be fooled. When in doubt ask them if they've ever been to New Hamburg. If they say no, you know that they are false. If they say yes... well you're still not in the clear.)

My aunt Mary is a nun of the School Sisters of Notre Dame variety (SSND) and she is the pastoral associate of a couple of parishes in the Springfield part of the Springfield/Cape diocese. She is also a cheat. Don't ever play pictionary with her. You will lose and you won't know why.

I don't have anything else to say right now, so goodnight.

A conversation between two Matt Essners.

What did you do today?
"I undecorated the Christmas stuff. It was mucho depressingo."
Is that Spanish?
"Could be...."
Have you signed up for classes yet?
"No."
Are you going to?
"I should."
Yes. You should sign up for classes.
"I need to e-mail Dr. Hill."
You should do that tonight.
"I will."
You should also contact Mr. Dufek.
"I agree."
Ok. Well I think I'm going to go play some Half Life 2.
"Me too."
Cool.

I laughed a lot today.

I rearranged my room today... what do you think? I think I like it. I still haven't cleaned off my bed... I will though.

I also saw Munich today. It was terriffic. Eric Bana is a super hero. So is Geoffrey Rush. Get used to it.
HEY! V for Vendetta is a good book. I read it today/yesterday. I'm pretty cool like that. So I went approximately 32 hours without eating, and you know what? I wasn't too hungry when I did eat again. Go figure. I need to drink some water like a mad fiend though. Hold on a second, I'm going to get some water.

Mmm... tasty.

Things I did not do today:
1. Drive a car
2. Take a nap
3. Exercise (theirs a shocker!)

Things I did do today: (I suppose it's important to note that today means January 7)
1. Clean my room
2. Clean the Bathroom
3. Cleaned the Patio
4. Bought Half-Life 2
5. Went to see Munich
6. Finished V for Vendetta
7. Spent $90 (Holy crap... did I really? Yes. Yes you did. Damn)

Tomorrow I will play magic.

It's been a ridiculous amount of time since I've posted...

Since I last posted I've seen...
1. Love Actually; It's a pretty good flick. Bill Nighy is amazing.
2. Walk the Line: I really liked this movie.
3. Extras: It was good to see Ricky Gervais play a likeable character. The girl who plays Maggie is terriffic.

I go to work in 45 minutes. Yippee.

I have to take Battlefront back today. It's a great game. I might buy it when the price drops.

I'll try to post something more interesting when I get back from work, in about 10 hours. Right now I'm just too not interesting to say something of any sort of worth.
